While we focus on purebred dogs, we love all dogs and work to better not only their lives, but the lives of the people who love them.  As such, we have promoted and participated in the  following:

*Pet food drive to the area 10 seniors (Monroe County, IN)

*Humane  Society (Brown County, IN) 

* ICAN dog for Monroe County, IN

*FIDO (Portland OR Wildfires)

*AKC Reunite (Hurricane Relief MS & LA

Fast CAT (Fast Coursing Ability Tests)

Fun Runs and competition events allow for dogs of all breeds to work on earning levels of achievement based on how fast they chase a "bunny" (plastic bag) down a 100 yard fenced in run. 

At our meeting, on November 2, 2022, Taylor McComb gave a brief seminar on the Shiba Inu.  The history behind Shiba Inu, the size and temperatment (both here in the US and Japan), the coat colors, texture and the banding of color on the hair strands. The importance of the head and the correct ear set.

Melinda with Urban Uplander presented a class on Barn Hunt to BIKC members.  Special thanks to Melissa, as well as BIKC member, Valerie Pena for providing her barn and lunch to those who were able to attend.
